DEVENIR RUISSEAU, OCÉAN
OU CASCADE
LA CRYPTE DE GREZ, France
October 4 – November 29, 2025
“devenir ruisseau, océan ou cascade” (becoming stream, ocean or waterfall)” is an exhibition presented at La Crypte de Grez, set within the 12th-century underground crypt of Grez-sur-Loing, a historic artistic enclave.
Carmen Bouyer, Julia Gault, and Juliette Dumas engage across multiple horizons of becoming, where water—though absent beneath the vaulted ceilings of the Crypt—functions as a spatio-temporal threshold, a shared vital force, and a constitutive principle of hydrofeminism. Each artist, having nurtured a singular relationship with the Forest of Fontainebleau, grounds her practice in a local dynamic that questions the conditions of habitability and the preservation of a territory’s memory.
